First of all I wish to congratulate the anniversary of the victory of the revolution to the Iranian nation, Families of the martyrs and the brave souls who fought for this land.

The evolution of the Islamic Revolution has not come to an end yet. What is of particular interest is that following the elections and subsequent actions (of the authorities), the Islamic revolution is once again being Air Jordan 2009threatened with difficulties (challenges).

Today (in our country) a Friday Prayer Imam who mercilessly defends discrimination, violence and fraud; does not care that illegal methods are being used in order to fabricate confessions or extract false confessions and does not care that many of these people have nothing to do with the post-election events!

All that he cares about (referring to Khatami - Not former President) is to carry out executions in order to seek revenge and propagate fear. Today, by witnessing the rule of the security forces over prosecutors and a judiciary that has succumb to the security forces; we reach the conclusion that during the revolution (of 1979) we were overly optimistic.

I still do not believe that the Islamic Revolution has achieved its goals and the ceremonies which every year commemorate the victory of the revolution are a renewal of commitments to the eradication of oppression and a renewed awareness to the core values of our revolution.

(Dr. Ayatollah Beheshti was the founder of the Islamic Republic Judicial system and a true legal as well as religious scholar).

Today the prisons of this Nation are filled with students, Professors, researchers and other honorable citizens whose files (legal cases) contain nothing more than pure fabrications.

They are accused of perversions, espionage and other crimes, whereas the true perverts and criminals are outside of those prisons and are busy looting the coffers of this country. Instead of catching true spies, they accuse everyone of espionage.

Toyota will announce plans next week for repairing 2.3 million vehicles under recall for accelerator pedals that could stick, but the timeframe for completing the repairs has yet to be finalized, theugg boots company said Friday.

The Japanese automaker took another public relations hit when Consumer Reports, one of the most-watched arbiters of automotive quality, pulled its “recommended” ratings from the eight Toyota models whose sales have been halted until Toyota provides a repair. Obama Seeks Partial Three-Year Spending Freeze

President Obama, after approving billions of dollars in spending increases in his first year in office, now is seeking a three-year federal spending freeze that would reduce budgets by less than 1 percent.

President Obama, after spending hundreds of billions his first year, now is seeking a partial three-year federal spending freeze that would reduce budgets by less than 1 percent.

The drop-in-the-bucket nature of the president’s proposal wasbest ugg boots underscored Tuesday by a Congressional Budget Office estimate projecting ugg Australiathe 2010 federal deficit to hit $1.35 trillion — Obama’s spending freeze would be expected to save up to $15 billion the first year.

The president will propose the congressional freeze on “non-security” spending in his State of the Union address Wednesday night, senior administration officials said. The freeze, which would apply to annual spending on day-to-day government, appears to be an attempt to answer widespread voter concern about rising deficits and debt.

But the scope of Obama’s proposal is being met with skepticism on buy ugg bootsCapitol Hill, as Republicans say that any freeze will be small in the context of federal spending under Obama’s watch.

“Given Washington Democrats’ unprecedented spending binge, this is like announcing you’re going on a diet after winning a pie-eating contest,” said Michael Steel, spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner.

But even this pared-back proposal for a freeze is expected to meet resistance from Democrats on the Hill, something the administration appears to be bracing for.

“Do I think this is going to win us lots of kudos among some on Capitol Hill?” said one official. “No.”

Administration officials said Obama will use his State of the Union address to urge Congress to impose the spending freeze for the next three budget years. If Congress follows suit, taxpayers would save $250 billion over 10 years under the proposal. That figure represents what would be spent, in part to keep up with inflation, without a freeze on “non-security” programs. Inflation may be starting to tick back up. IHS Global Insight has forecast inflation to grow this month at a rate of 0.3 percent from last month and 2.8 percent from last January.

Next year, a “non-security” spending freeze would save between $10 billion to $15 billion — a fraction of the current $3.5 trillion budget. In comparison, the “security” spending items exempted from the freeze are as follows: $663 billion for defense, $56 billion for veterans, $43 billion for homeland security and $53 billion for foreign aid.

“We’re not here to tell you we’ve solved the deficit,” one official said, conceding this move would leave a sizable deficit behind. “You have to take steps.”

Obama has embarked on several deficit-reducing “steps” since taking office, none of which would do much to reverse the rising national debt — which has topped $12 trillion.

Shortly after his inauguration, the president announced he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his term. Such a pledge, though, means his administration would still rack up trillions in deficits over the course of his term, only adding to the debt.

Obama later called on his department to cut $100 million from their budgets. And most recently, he’s backed a bipartisan task force to focus on ways to cut the deficit — a proposal ugg bootsthe Senate rejected Tuesday.

Karl Rove, former adviser to former President George W.ugg outlet Bush, called the proposal for a spending freeze worthwhile, but a clearly political response to the Democrats’ loss in the Massachusetts Senate special election a week ago.

“At some point, you do have to draw a line and say, ‘We have to re-orient what you are doing’ and that’s what is occurring,” an official said.

“The president made these decisions the way a family would sitting around the dinner table,” another official said. “It can’t spend more money than it has and it has to make some decisions about what is vital. You can’t afford to do everything you might have wanted to do.”

Robert A. Mosbacher, a native New Yorker whose swashbuckling career as a wildcatter in the oil fields of Texas and Louisiana paralleled and often intersected with that of President George H. W. Bush, whom he served as a fund-raiser, confidant, political adviser and secretary of commerce from 1989 to 1992, died at a Houston hospital on Sunday. He was 82 and lived in Houston.

The cause was pancreatic cancer, according to Jim McGrath, a family spokesman. A businessman and world-class sailor with polished political skills, Mr. Mosbacher made the most of his tenure at the Commerce Department,Ugg Stripe Cable Knit which had often suffered as a cabinet stepchild. He provided prominent support for American competitiveness in high technology, including HDTV, and won a role for the department in approving the export of technology with military applications, a function that had been the exclusive province of the State Department.

“I fell in love with Houston when I first arrived,” he told Ugg TallThe New York Times in 1975. “I wanted to be a wildcatter. I wanted to live in the West or Southwest.”

It took a few years of poring over land records in county courthouses before a debt-averse Mr. Mosbacher — he said he had learned never to wildcat on capital or borrowed money — drilled his first well. It turned out to be a dry hole.

But in the mid-1950s he found a huge field of natural gas in south Texas and eventually drilled wells in Texas, Louisiana, Montana and western Canada.

He redeployed some of the family-owned Mosbacher Energy Company’Ugg Tasmans assets into ranching, real estate and banking, diversifying a fortune that grew to an estimated hundreds of millions of dollars.

It was at a barbecue in Texas that Mr. Mosbacher met George H. W. Bush; the two shared a background as ambitious scions of wealthy and accomplished Northeastern families.

With business success came an increasing role in politics, first by raising money for two failed Bush campaigns for the United States Senate that bracketed a successful one in 1966 for the House. In the 1970s, he served as finance chairman for President Gerald R. Ford. In 1988, he presided over a fund-raising effort that yielded an estimated $75 million and helped propel Mr. Bush into the White House.

Appointed to head the Commerce Department, Mr. Mosbacher said he aimed to develop closer ties between government and industry, perhaps, he hoped, with the aid of relaxed antitrust laws, so that United States factoriesUgg Tasmina could better compete in high technology.

He also complained publicly that hundreds of campaign contributors had been denied ambassadorships and other federal posts that he thought they deserved.

“There’s this perception,” he told The Times, “that fund-raisers are nice, interesting people to be sort of patted on the head when you need them and ignored the rest of the time because they don’t really understand the process.”

Away from government, Mr. Mosbacher was an accomplished sailor, though he was eclipsed on the water by his elder brother, Emil Mosbacher Jr., known as Bus, who served as State Department chief of protocol in the Nixon Ugg Ultimate Tall Braidadministration. Still, Robert Mosbacher won the 1958 Clifford D. Mallory Cup, the men’s North American championship, as well as world sailing championships in the dragon class in 1969 and the soling class in 1971.

Mr. Mosbacher married his first wife, the former Jane Pennybacker, by eloping when he was 19; he didn’t tell his family for six months. He adopted her religion, saying in his memoir, “My religion is Presbyterian, my heritage is Jewish — and I am proud of that.” She died in 1970.

They had three daughters — Diane, known as Dee, Kathryn and Lisa — and a son, Robert Jr., who succeeded his father as head of Mosbacher Energy and who led the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, a federal agency, Ugg Ultra Shortin the administration of George W. Bush. The children survive him, as do six grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

Mr. Mosbacher is also survived by his fourth wife, Michele McCutchen, a Houston writer known as Mica whom he married in 2000.

His marriage to Sandra Smith Gerry ended in divorce in 1982. In 1984 he married Georgette Paulsin, herself twice previously married, who three years later paid $31 million for a Swiss maker of high-end beauty products called La Prairie.

They divorced in 1998; after she wrote about their relationship Ugg Ultra Short Lein a book, “It Takes Money, Honey,” Mr. Mosbacher said the split had resulted mainly from disagreement over where to live, he wishing to spend most of his time in Houston, she in New York City.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — When Haitians realized their National Palace was destroyed, many feared President Rene Preval was dead.

Turns out it was a very near miss.

First Lady Elisabeth Debrosse Preval recounted the first public details of the couple’s post-earthquake ordeal on Tuesday, telling reporters she and her husband left the historic Beaux-Arts palace in centralugg boots Port-au-Prince about an hour before the magnitude-7 quake struck on the afternoon of Jan. 12.

The couple went to an event at the state university law school, then drove to their private hillside home, and were just walking into the house in the Canape-Vert district when everything started to shake.

“We froze, then took three or four steps back, and the

Stunned, the first couple sat in their yard as government, police and church officials brought news of tragedy from across the capital.

The police chief stayed with the group for about four hours, and Debrosse Preval said her husband and the rest of the group stayed out until about 8 a.m.

The president’s two daughters, it turned out, were not in the house and were unharmed. The first lady said she lost two close relatives who were like parents to her.

According to numerous accounts from shopkeepers who were in the building on Monday, two men wearing the large blanket-like shawls favored by Afghan men to keep out the winter chill entered the building and went up to the fourth or fifth floor. There, they threw off their cloaks, revealing heavy weapons, and told people to get out.
